+ What is LifeArk made of?

LifeArk modules are made of our proprietary composite polymer HDPE (high density polyethylene) skin with an integrated HDPU foam core.

+ LifeArk floats?

Yes, LifeArk's water application replaces the land-deck with a hull, allowing our modules to float on water.

+ What is the dimension of one module?

8ft x 8ft x 9ft

+ Testing/Certification?

We have received IAPMO-UES material certification as the first structural, load-bearing composite polymer material for habitable structures across the below criteria. LifeArk has also received certification from the Housing and Community Development (HCD) Factory-Built Housing Program.

+ Is HDPE environmentally friendly?

HDPE plastic is the most environmentally stable of all plastics – giving off no harmful fumes into the environment. Manufacturing HDPE plastics requires only a fraction of the energy required to produce steel from iron ore.

LifeArk parts are manufactured using 30% post-consumer recycled plastic. After the life cycle of the modules, LifeArk's shell can be 100% recycled. Use of HDPE materials contributes towards satisfying LEED credits.

+ Is LifeArk recyclable?

LifeArk parts can be taken apart, re-ground, and re-used for non-structural elements of the module. LifeArk is also certified to use up to 30% PCR (post-consumer recycled) plastic in our resin formulation.

+ How much maintenance does it require?

LifeArk units are extremely low-maintenance. HDPE is inherently germ-resistant with exceptional resistance to splinting, fading, moisture and other environmental hazards common to wood or wood fiber composite products.

The modular design of the LifeArk units allows specific components to be easily replaced as needed. Any smaller damages made to the surface of the modules can be repaired using standard compounds from any hardware stores.

The HDPE walls can be easily cleaned using standard cleaning agents and water.

+ What is the lifespan?

LifeArk units have a life cycle of 30+ years with little maintenance.

+ Are the units ADA compliant?

Yes, LifeArk configurations can be designed to comply to ADA standards.

+ Can you relocate LifeArk units?

Yes, the modular design of LifeArk allows the units to be quickly assembled and disassembled and relocated as needed. The off-grid capability of LifeArk allows units to be deployed essentially anywhere.

+ Are LifeArk units available for purchase right now?

Yes! Please contact us via email or through the Contact page to inquire about purchasing units.

+ When will you start your projects overseas?

We are hoping to launch our overseas floating projects in the year 2025. Our pilot project will be in the small town of Santa Rosa in Peru where our partner organization is located. For more information, visit the "Santa Rosa" projects tab. We hope to expand our overseas projects along other rivers-edge communities as well as refugee housing.
